Peer support matters. Now more than ever.
SHIPS (Social Healing Impact Peer Support) is a community-based programme combining creative expression, shared lived experiences, and mutual care to support emotional and holistic well-being.

People who get it. Because they’ve been there. That’s SHIPS.
Our Big Why
Getting help shouldn’t be this hard.
In Malaysia, mental healthcare waitlists stretch for months. Private appointments are expensive. And for many people, access to consistent support is simply out of reach.
Our Model
Three approaches.
One community.
Each pathway does something the others can’t. Together, they support real, lasting healing.
🧠
Mindfulness
Pause your life with mindfulness. We use visual art, nature, and community outreach to bring you back to the present: your breath, your body, and what matters right now.
🎨
Creative Expression
Some things are too deep for words so we give you another way to express them. Move, perform, and create in a peer suppport space where you can show up honestly, without judgment.
🪄
Self-Discovery
Hard times make us lose sight of ourselves. Find your way back by reconnecting with yourself through multi-sensory art workshops, cultural experiences, and community engagement programs.

Nik Fazrul / Juno, Singer-Songwriter. His bedroom recording studio is where Juno writes, records, performs, and produces all of his music. Other than solo work, he is also part of a few local bands. As a peer support in SHIPS, Juno offered the experience of healing with music.
“I am a musician, something anyone can be. But not everyone takes the time to truly understand emotions deeply, from many different perspectives. Through the process of feeling, reflecting, and healing, myWIPhealing has helped me become a better version of myself.
Back then, when I wrote songs, especially the lyrics; my writing was very literal. I was only looking at the surface of things. But since joining myWIPhealing, it has helped me dive much deeper. It taught me how to identify the hidden meanings behind every word. Once I discovered what was unspoken, that was when I could fully embrace the hidden feelings and emotions beneath the surface.
I used to struggle with communicating with others and understanding how they truly felt, especially in raw, everyday language. But when I engage in music therapy with myWIPhealing, I feel like everyone is on the same frequency as me. The noisy ones become quiet and focused. The quiet ones start to speak up and feel joyful.
Out of all the shows and performances I’ve ever been part of, doing music therapy with myWIPhealing has been the most fulfilling experience for me.”
Edd Zain, UX Designer and Career Strategist. During a time when mental illness was still stigmatized in Malaysia, Edd experienced a severe bipolar episode that led her to pause her career. Instead of concealing her struggles, she proudly carried on her career as a designer and spoke openly about her mental illness, bridging two worlds that are rarely brought together.
“My experience with SHIPS by myWIPhealing has opened my eyes to the importance of being open-minded in our approach to mental health recovery. While medication and talk therapy have significantly aided my progress, the true blessing has been the community that supports my healing together when my career was on fire.
Today, I stand as a designer, speaker, and advocate who refuses to accept the world as it is. I’m rewriting the rules, reshaping the conversation, and reminding the next generation that meaningful work and mental health aren’t luxuries.”
Shaz, a founding community member and volunteer of myWIPhealing, having joined in 2021 before SHIPS formally existed. She lives with Major Depressive Disorder, she loves social work, and she loves to see people being happy together.
“I was able to rebuild my confidence to face people, because at that time I hadn’t worked for three years. Then I was able to start working again. SHIPS made me feel confident with all the support. I like seeing everyone who comes to our program feeling happy.”
